MOFFETTS

We have been leading the way with this self loading service for 17 years. Moffett truck mounted forklifts, also known as 'Mountys', 'Piggy Back' forklifts, or trailer mounted forklifts are becoming more common on our roads, but we were the first general haulage company in Suffolk to offer the service back in 1990.

We now run a fleet of Moffetts with a lift capacity of up to 2.5 tons.

These machines are an excellent alternative to tail lift and HIAB vehicles as the forklift can operate totally independently from the truck, with none of the Health & Safety and access problems posed by pump trucks.

Our range of trailer mounted forklifts includes variants suited to palletised goods, extrusions, turf, glass and glazing components, animal feed, timber, temporary roadway and building materials to name but a few.

We run the following types of machines:

• Moffett M3. Suitable for paved surfaces and hard packed ground. This type of vehicle mounted fork truck has telescopic tines for reaching accross the lorry bed, so loading/unloading can be carried out from one side of the vehicle.
  
  
• Moffett M3 20.4. This is an all wheel drive machine suitable for any hard packed surface and light to medium off road applications. This machine has the unique ability to steer all three wheels, enabling it to drive sideways. This is ideal for handling long loads in tight places. This machine is also fitted with telescopic tines.
  
  
• Moffett M4. This is the largest type of lorry mounted forklift we run. It is all wheel drive and runs on agricultural tyres, making it an excellent machine for any type of rough terrain. These machines are fitted with 'pantograph' reach systems and stabilisers and can lift up to 2.5 tons.
